Progressive Coalition Calls on House Lawmakers to Resist Cuts to Critical Investments in Budget

...stop playing shortsighted political games with our lives and deliver on the crucial spending outlined in the budget resolution.”

WASHINGTON DC — Today, the House committees will begin marking up the $3.5 trillion reconciliation package in an effort to draft both infrastructure bills by Sept. 15. ProsperUS coalition spokesperson Claire Guzdar released the following statement.

“The $3.5 trillion budget resolution is already a compromise. Anyone calling to dilute the $3.5 trillion reconciliation package should have the courage to face the workers, families, and communities they want cut out of the bill and explain why they are putting the corporate interests ahead of our economic recovery. These investments aren’t just numbers on a page or props for political posturing—every dollar represents real investments in climate, housing, caregiving, and other critical programs that our communities need to survive and thrive.

“It’s time for our leaders to stop playing shortsighted political games with our lives and deliver on the crucial investments outlined in the budget resolution.”
