ProsperUS Commends House on Passage of Strong Budget Resolution, Calls for Speedy Action on Big, Bold Reconciliation Bill

“...these investments must be paired with the bipartisan investments in roads, bridges, and other infrastructure — neither bill can be left behind”

WASHINGTON DC — Today, ProsperUS coalition spokesperson Claire Guzdar reacted to the House of Representatives’ passage of a budget resolution. The agreement lays the foundation for both the $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation package and physical infrastructure deal, which the House has committed to pass by September 27.

“We commend House Democrats for passing a bold budget framework to deliver on critical priorities that our families and communities need most.

“Now, it’s time for the House and Senate to deliver on the bold agenda that President Biden promised and the public expects. Action on climate, paid leave, caregiving, good jobs, and other critical priorities our families need are non-negotiables—these are the building blocks for a stronger, more sustainable economy.

“The House and Senate must work quickly to advance all these desperately-needed investments: that means drafting legislation that invests the full $3.5 trillion in families, workers, and communities paired with the bipartisan investments in roads, bridges, and other physical infrastructure. Neither bill can be left behind both are needed to drive an economic recovery that lifts up all people, not just the wealthiest few.”
