ProsperUS Calls on Congress to Resist Misguided Demands for Austerity
Washington, D.C. – Today, in a letter to Speaker Pelosi and Leader Schumer, ProsperUS urged Congress to implement popular, needed, and long-overdue investments in climate, care, and good-paying jobs. Claire Guzdar, spokesperson for ProsperUS, released the following statement:
“As Congress comes back to work, it is imperative that members resume good-faith efforts to fulfill the promise of desperately-needed investments in workers, families, and communities. Starving our economy of these long-term investments is penny wise and pound foolish and will lead to slower growth, fewer jobs, less revenue, and larger deficits in the long run.”
“We urge you to reject misplaced demands to slam the breaks on our economic recovery and instead seize this moment to secure prosperity for generations to come.”
