Progressive Coalition Responds to Failed Cloture Vote

Washington, D.C. — Today’s cloture vote fell short of the 60 vote threshold needed to begin debate on the bipartisan infrastructure framework. Claire Guzdar, spokesperson for ProsperUS, released the following statement on behalf of 80+ progressive advocacy groups:

“Bipartisanship is nice in concept, but not if it comes at the expense of actually getting things done. Every day that this legislation is delayed is another day that workers, families, and communities go without the critical investments they need and deserve. It’s time for Democrats to move forward quickly with a reconciliation package that delivers investments to tackle climate change, care for loved ones, and help people get back to work.”
